Zero Waste Move-Out
Tips for a Successful Registration Process

1. Review the Class Schedule

2. Academic Advising

Please note that only students with Academic Advising holds will be required to meet with their advisors. Academic Advising holds will be active for all students who are on academic probation, subject to academic disqualification or on academic reinstatement.

If you have any questions about the advising policy, please contact the Undergraduate Advising Center at (831) 582-3937.

If you have not been assigned to an Academic Advisor and have declared your major, please contact your Academic Program.

3. Holds

All holds must be cleared before you can register. Login to CMS Student/HR at MyCSUMB  to view any holds that may be on your record. Hold definitions and contact information can be found on our Registration Holds page.

4. Fees & Tuition

REGISTER NOW AND PAY LATER

The deadline to pay tuition and fees for the Fall 12 term is August 3, 2012. You may pay your bill any time between registration and the due date.

Students are offered different options to pay:

  • Online via eCheck or credit card (sorry, Visa not accepted) within your CMS Student Center account. Please note, there is a 2.9% convenience fee charge for credit card payments.
  • In-person or by mailing a check to:

Campus Service Center

100 Campus Center

Student Services Building

Seaside, CA 93955-8001

If CSUMB does not receive your payment by August 3, 2012 you will face disenrollment from all of your classes. Students who enroll after August 3rd will be required to pay tuition and fees prior to registration. Any student who abuses this payment policy may be required to prepay his/her tuition and fees for future terms. Prompt payment is appreciated.

The CSU makes every effort to keep student costs to a minimum. Tuition and Fees listed in published schedules or student accounts may need to be increased when public funding is inadequate. Therefore, CSU must reserve the right, even after initial tuition and fee payments are made, to increase or modify any listed tuition and fees, without notice, until the date when instruction for a particular semester or quarter has begun. All CSU listed tuition and fees should be regarded as estimates that are subject to change upon approval by The Board of Trustees.

More information regarding tuition and fees can be found at the following website: catalog.csumb.edu/general-information/tuitionfees

5. Register for classes by logging in CMS Student/HR at MyCSUMB on or after your assigned enrollment appointment time.

Helpful hints to make registering for classes easy:

  • Pick alternate courses. Classes may close or may be canceled. Choosing alternative classes beforehand means you are not pressured to decide what to take the moment you register.
  • You can register only on or after your scheduled day and time. If you are unable to register on the Web, you may have someone register for you. That person will need to bring your Registration Notification letter, a signed note from you with explanation allowing the person to register for you, and a photo ID.
  • There may be changes to the schedule even up to the first week of class. Check online for the most current schedule of classes.
  • Any changes to your schedule must be student initiated. It is your responsibility to verify the accuracy of your schedule and to retain copies of changes made to your schedule.
  • Courses that are canceled are automatically dropped from your schedule
