General Information Regarding the Transfer Credit Report
The CMS Student/HR Transfer Credit Report allows CSUMB to apply any transferable undergraduate course credit you may have from other institutions. Most commonly this will be General Education coursework from two and four year institutions both in California and across the United States. There is a 70 semester unit limit for courses from two-year institutions.

There are some instances where we will accept upper division transfer coursework from four year universities. We may transfer in post baccalaureate or graduate level coursework from other graduate schools, though this is also subject to unit limits.

The Transfer Credit report also reflects credit for AP, IB and some CLEP tests as determined by the office of the CSU Chancellor, if you received the minimum accepted scores and submitted official copies of your test records. AP classes completed in high school do not count as AP credit.

Please note, that Fall 2008 was the first year that CSUMB was operational in CMS Peoplesoft, after converting from our prior student data base.  Students admitted prior to Fall 2008 will have transfer/test credit that appears differently in the system.

You may access your Transfer Credit report by logging in to MyCSUMB and clicking on the CMS Student/HR LOGIN button. Choose Self Service, then choose Transfer Credit from the left menu list.

Students Admitted Fall 2008 and later with AP, IB or CLEP test credit
For students admitted for Fall 2008 and later, this transfer credit summary shows each of the AP, IB, or CLEP tests you have passed and the number of college credits applied to the record. Tests that meet CSU GE Breadth requirements will align, in part, with CSUMB General Education Requirements and are designated as fulfilled if all GE components are completed successfully with minimum passing test scores.

Consult the online CSUMB Catalog General Education website for more information about General Education Requirements.

Students may have up to 70 semester units of transferable work from a two-year institution posted to your record. If you had more than 70 units of transferable coursework from a two-year institution, you will see an adjustment on your transfer credit report subtracting units over 70 from your record. There is no limit on transferable units from a four-year institution. The number of units you see on your record is in semester format. Units from quarter calendar schools have been recalculated in the system to reflect semester units. Posting of transferable coursework takes place after you have indicated your intent to enroll.
