What is an Intersystem Concurrent?
Students enrolled at a California State University may apply for a concurrent enrollment to another CSU campus.

Incoming Eligibility Requirements

You must have completed at least one term at your "home" campus as a matriculated student and earned at least 12 units there.

You must be in good academic standing at your home campus, have a grade point average of 2.0 in all work completed at your home campus, and be eligible to register in "continuing" status at your home campus.

Incoming Enrollment Condition

  • Approval will be for one term only as a concurrent and is subject to space availability and registration priorities at the host campus.
  • Academic advisement is available only at the home campus. Because of overlap in the academic terms of campuses on semester and quarter calendars, concurrent enrollment is possible only in certain combinations. Please check the Policies & Procedures on the Concurrent Enrollment form.
  • Evidence of completion of course prerequisite may be required at the home campus (i.e.,personal transcript or grade reports)
  • Financial aid is available only through the home campus and students eligible for veteran, rehabilitation, social security and other federal, state or county benefits must secure eligibility certification through the home campus.
  • Health services on host campus will be limited to treatment for emergencies.
  • Participation in student activities at host campus is subject to any limitations which may exist at the campus. Similarly, students union facilities will be available according to policies at each campuses.
  • Parking on the host campus will be available on the basis of a term fee within campus parking availability or on daily fee basis.
  • Information concerning host campus identification card polices will be provided at registration.
  • Student completes application and submits all five copies to the Office of Admissions & Records at the home campus at least four weeks in advance of the first day of classes at both campuses.

Incoming Application Procedures

Obtain a CSU "Application for Intersystem Concurrent Enrollment" form from your home campus's Registrar's Office. Submit the completed form back to your Registrar's Office.

The home campus Registrar's Office will determine eligibility and forward the form to  the Office of the Registrar at CSUMB.

Registration takes place in person on the CSUMB campus beginning the first day of instruction. You will need to pay your registration fees at your home campus prior to registration. Classes are subject to space availability and regular application deadlines.

Outgoing Eligibility Requirements

Undergraduate

  • Student has completed at least one term at the home campus as a matriculated student and earned at least twelve units there.
  • Student has attained a grade point average of 2.0 in all work completed at the home campus and is in good standing at that campus.
  • Student is eligible to register under "continuing" status at the home campus.

Graduate

  • The student has completed at least one term at the home campus as a matriculated student.
  • The student has been admitted to or is in enrolled in an authorized graduate program at the home campus.
  • The student was in good standing at the last college attended.

Outgoing Enrollment Conditions

Approval will be for one term only and is subject to space availability and enrollment priority policies of the host campus.

To remain beyond the term in which you are a "concurrent", a regular application must be filed.

"Concurrent" Status means you are taking course at both campuses- home and host.

Financial aid is available to "concurrent" only through the home campus and students eligible for Veterans, Rehabilitation, Social Security, and other Federal, State, or county benefits must secure eligibility certification through the home campus.

All required fees must be paid at the time of the "concurrent" registration.

A record of credit earned at the host campus will automatically be sent to the home campus . Please be sure to fill out the transcript request form and pay the transcript fee if applicable at the host campus.

Evidence of completion of course prerequisites may be required at time of enrollment (i.e., personal transcript copy or grade reports).

Outgoing Application Procedures

Student completes application and submits to Registrar on the home campus at least four weeks in advance of first day of classes at the host campus. Earlier submission (up to three months before class begins) may improve registration opportunity.

Home campus completes part II of the Application and forwards to host campus if approved, or returns to student if disapproved.

Host campus provides registration instructions if application is accepted, or returns application with explanation if it can not be accepted.
